Church Planting

The great commission in Mark 16 includes the mandate to "go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature". The New Testament pattern for accomplishing this task is primarily through the establishing of local churches where people hear the gospel, receive salvation, become disciples, and participate themselves in the spreading of the gospel. In a country the size of Texas and Oklahoma combined, with approximately 2 million people, the challenge to position churches across this nation is a primary goal of the national church and missionary team. There are currently 8 churches affiliated with the Pentecostal Assemblies of God of Namibia. Four churches are located in the central part of the country, two on the western coastline, one on the eastern border, and one in the extreme northeast in the Caprivi Strip. There exists a vital need to establish churches in the northern part of the country, where over one-half of the population lives. A land with such geographical expanses necessitates the planting of more churches in varied locations to maximize the spread of the gospel.

The life and vibrancy of the church can be measured in part by its ability to reproduce itself. Our prayer is that the national church will be infused with the life and vibrancy of the Holy Spirit in such measure that other churches will be birthed and will grow into vibrant bodies of believers who will in turn reproduce other churches. We ask that you partner with us in prayer concerning God's timing and resources for the establishment of more churches across the country of Namibia. Especially pray with us that God will call Namibian believers to be church planters and to commit themselves to the task of church planting.
